Illustration Friday: Tea

Meet Sir Mad Hatter. In his old age, the Mad Hatter preferred cold tea over hot. It soothed his achy gums and teeth. His favorite: bubble tea. The globs of tapioca would get lodged in his throat and surprise him. It took little things like that to make his life a bit more exciting.

Bubble tea does not sound like a good thing. I like the colors and texture you used in this picture.

Bubble tea is actually quite yummy and fun, but only if you like surprises in your tea. I've added a link to a definition of what it is....

It would be a honor if Sir Mat Hatter could visit my Oneye's Mad Hatters Tea Party! I will make sure a cup of bubble tea will be there waiting for him :-)

oh i love the hat!!!! how big are the majority of illustrations that you do?! do you play with type at all?! i just could see this paired up with a cute story... i mean, you always have wonderful stories so why not make mini book layouts?! another idea from this crazed curl girl ;) as always, your artwork is very lighthearted and wonderful!

I confess, I drink the boba tea without the tapioca! Those balls make me nuts...I'm such a tea-holic though that I really get into the green tea and milk instead. It reminds me of winter vacation in Hong Kong years ago when I first had it.

thanks for all the sweet comments about my bubble tea mad hatter....oh, and I like the connection anonymous made about the bubbles in his hat! I didn't even think about that one! The hat was inspired by a crazy hat I have...will have to post it sometime.
